Anderson Luster was born and raised near Montgomery.
He attended High School at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and earned a
BFA degree in painting and drawing from Auburn University. While at Auburn,
he was Production Designer for Auburn Television on two award-winning films,
Lost in Time and First Frontier. In the 1980's, he worked for a Huntsville
design firm involved in trade show and museum exhibits. The Alabama Space
and Rocket Center was a major client. Others include Intergraph, Hughes
Aircraft, Teledyne, Redstone Arsenal, Chrysler Pentastar and NASA. By 1990,
Mr. Luster was working in Birmingham in limited edition figure prototyping.
In 1991, he married Kayrn Holloway. Affiliated with regional galleries, he
produced about 400 oil paintings during the following 5 years. The work is
now represented in public and private collections including Alabama Bar Association,
Alabama Retirement Systems and Auburn University Conference Center. During
this same period, he provided freelance illustration and directed model bulding
for Ad Astra, Final Frontier, Star Wars and Star Trek Fan Club magazines.
He worked for Airworks and Associates in Colorado Springs beginning in 1996.
Among the many exciting projects completed there, the Airworks team constructed
a multi-media theater in the form of a life size (48 by 18 foot) aluminum
flying saucer for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. 1998 saw his
return to the Auburn area to continue work on large private murals and to
focus more on his original oil paintings.
