"An innate sense of frugality and an attraction to oddities, both natural and fabricated, are
important factors in my work. The unifying theme in the imagery is the idea of narrative.  Each
piece has elements of history, relationship, psychology, humor, and surprise. Combining pattern, color, and three-dimensional elements, I create a landscape for events. I draw from art history, dreams, life experience, and language. I seek that moment in the creative process when clarity occurs. Sometimes the story leaps out at me and sometimes it evolves from the media. My work consists of mixed media drawings and three-dimensional constructions. Media include pastel, oil stick, markers of various sorts, collage, and found objects ranging from plastic toys and bones to broken glass and watch parts."
